Douglas Cowan

Douglas Cowan advises clients on business and tax transactional matters — domestic and international tax (inbound and outbound). He graduated from St. Mary’s School of Law and obtained his Master of Laws degree in taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center. Douglas worked with Deloitte in Dallas and Washington D.C. focusing on international tax matters and subsequently worked as Senior Tax Counsel for Hewlett Packard when Hewlett Packard split into HP Enterprise and HP Inc. Douglas then went on to work with EY LLP’s transaction tax practice focusing on M&A transactions and post-acquisition reorganizations. Douglas consequently has significant experience advising domestic and international clients in a broad range of complex tax matters. Although Douglas’ practice is varied, he has recently focused on matters involving intellectual property, venture capital, private equity, and energy investment transactions. Douglas has extensive business experience working in Latin America and Europe; and he speaks fluent English, Spanish and French.
